Usually full architectural services will include everything from the initial design, through to completion, and would be around 5% to 15% of the total construction cost. Of course this will depend on the size and complexity of the project.

Sometimes all you need from your architect are some ideas to unlock the potential your propery holds, or some assistance resolving small details or complications during the construction phase. In these cases, most architects are willing to negotiate a fee for partial services.

I firmly believe that clients will almost always recover the cost of their architect when things like quality, liveability and durability are measured and given value.
